Laboratory for Radiobiology and Molecular Genetics was founded in 1990. The founder and the first director of the Laboratory was dr Dragan Alavantic, Full Research Professor. 

Today, the Laboratory has grown to a state-of-the-art laboratory enabling high-end research in the field of molecular genetics. Current director of the Laboratory is dr Maja Živković, Full Research Professor.
